Bruntwood has been creating thriving towns and cities for over 47 years. We are deeply connected with communities we operate in, playing a pivotal role in creating vibrant places and unlocking economic potential. Bruntwood also creates, owns and manages inspiring work environments, delivering everything from individual coworking desks and meeting rooms to fully managed offices in superb locations to help businesses thrive and grow.

In Cheshire East, Bruntwood has invested heavily into the transformation of the Booths Estate and Alderley Park, taking both from closed, single-occupier sites, and opening them up to secure high quality jobs in the local area and wider benefits for the community.
As part of this approach, Bruntwood is committed to a sustainable future. In 2018, we became the UK’s first commercial property company to sign up to the Green Building Council’s Net Zero Carbon Commitment pledge, which aims for new buildings to be net zero by 2030 and older buildings by 2050.

Bruntwood actively collaborates with local partners to bring about real change for communities. This includes ambitious and ground-breaking arts and cultural organisations, in addition to committing a minimum 10% of profits each year to environmental, civic and charitable initiatives through Bruntwood Group and the Oglesby Charitable Trust.

At Vita, we’re on a mission to create environments in which people can flourish. As an intelligence driven platform, we’re constantly looking at data and insights in order to inform innovation. Our approach to creating new properties goes far beyond the typical bricks and mortar approach. We look at behaviours, trends, and new technologies to shape and create new products and services. It’s why we’re constantly evolving our product offer to reflect new audiences, new demand, and new ways of thinking.

We’re passionate about helping people thrive. This is encompassed in our values and feeds everything we do from our approach to the people we employ to the way we design our buildings.

THE ESTATE

Booths Estate extends to 158ha and currently operates as a successful commercial campus with over 2,000 people employed on site and a range of features such as the historic Booths Hall, Locally Protected Mere and Woodland and Safeguarded Land identified for development. The Estate has a range of assets which present opportunities not just to enhance its current function as an important employment site for Knutsford, but to deliver benefits for the community over the long-term. In time, this could also include a transition from conventional farming to regenerative farming practices on the estate.

LOOKING TO THE FUTURE – A REGENERATIVE ESTATE

Our long-term ambition is to apply a regenerative approach to all parts of the Booths Estate masterplan.

This is not just about ‘doing less harm’ it’s about adopting the mindset of leaving it better than you found it.

In essence, a regenerative approach seeks to improve the resources that we use on the estate rather than destroying or depleting them.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

Bruntwood and Symphony Park are preparing planning applications for an integrated retirement community and extended Estate Road that we intend to submit to Cheshire East Council in the New Year.

The delivery of the integrated retirement community will enable and facilitate the establishment of an Estate Wide Management Plan. This will bring improved public access and enhancement of the green belt, helping to transform the Estate into an inviting destination for the local community with new walking and cycling routes, enhanced local landscape and opportunities for recreation and amenity. The Estate Wide Management Plan will also outline the enhanced biodiversity and regenerative farming practices that will be delivered on the Estate as part of the long-term vision.
